The Life of a Slot Receiver

Shane
We have a very special guest on Glue Guys today, an old pal of mine from our days in Houston. I was a Houston Rocket. He was a Houston Texan. He played six years in the NFL as a slot receiver. My good friend David Anderson went on to become a founder. He's a pioneer in the data analytics space in sports and founded BreakAway Data. All right, so I think you'll enjoy this conversation with my good friend David Anderson.

I want to know, first of all, I want to know before we get to athlete data and everything else, how crazy do you have to be to be a slot receiver in the NFL? I mean, aside from the kickers and punters, you're usually the smallest guy on the field. And Alex has talked a lot about the monsters that are defensive linemen, especially in the NFL, but you had to deal with some pretty, pretty nasty middle linebackers, some pretty nasty strong safeties. Talk about the mental sanity it takes to be an NFL slot receiver, which you did for six amazing years.
