Building at the Crossroads of Beauty and Science

Introduction

Rick
Our teachers today are Iris Rubin and Greg Maged, co-founders of SEEN, the fast-growing good-for-your-skin hair care company, creating a new category at the intersection of science, health and beauty. This was such an illuminating conversation with two people who had already accomplished so much in their lives and careers before embarking on an entirely new entrepreneurial path.

In Iris' case, as a Harvard-trained dermatologist, leading the dermatologic and vascular laser surgery program at Children's National Medical Center; and for Greg, having served in several leadership positions at Charles Schwab culminating as Chuck's Chief of Staff, this class has a number of fascinating dimensions to it that I think may have widespread application for others, including lessons on how to successfully prosecute an unexpected second act mid-career, a case study on how to operate with a very different playbook to most early-stage companies, one that is tailor-made for your particular company.
