Welcome back to Making Media. Our guest today is Jonathan Becker, Founder of Thrive Digital. Now paid growth is a complex topic. It's something that we reference quite a bit on the show, but we've never really dug in. Jonathan and his team at Thrive have deployed over $3.5 billion in paid acquisition budgets on behalf of the client base at Thrive. And naturally, that makes him an ideal guest to dig deeper.
So in the conversation, we draw on parallels to investing, how Jon and Thrive approach campaigns and what metrics that they're looking at, what the rules of thumb really are, and Jonathan's general philosophy on marketing as a whole. We've listened to you on other podcasts. We followed what you've done. And we were kicking around where to start. And before we were hitting record, we were talking about the similarities between a marketing budget and thinking about advertising and how that compares to investing, value investing, any type of investing.
